    Spring window temperatures.

I noticed something about the temperatures yesterday, so got out some thermometers and checked the situation. The temperature inside the house was 24 °C, outside was 34°C. The interesting thing was that the temperature of the window glass on the western side of the house was almost 45°C! That was a lot of heat pumping…

    Kangkong

Kangkong, an asian water spinach, much loved in the Philippines. These pieces, from the week’s food shopping, will take root and grow us many more leaves during the summer. There are 2 types of Kangkong, both love water but this variety can handle soil and dry spells better.

    Rain is better.

A little overnight rain has given the garden a bit of a lift. The tomatoes have responded especially well A little rain always does the garden good, no matter how much tap water I have used.

    Afternoon shade.

These grape vines are providing nice shade on the western side of the Elderly Centre in Gawler. A cool use for an edible plant.
