Gardening for diabetes

Part of the garden rebuild over the last months has been changing some plant species to those that can help Jelina with her (recently diagnosed) diabetes.

Besides all the wonderful antioxidants in the berries, the leaves of Blueberries contain substances that help reduce blood sugar and dependency on medications.

Other plants we now make sure we  have in the garden are  are Sambang Nyang (Longetivity Spinach), Thai Eggplants, Coffee) for the leaves) and Sage. All of those help control blood sugar.

Jelina may never be off of medication, but these herbs, plus dietary changes will make a huge difference.
