Of late. I’ve been dabbling in some solar punk fiction – just little pieces and snippets as they spring to mind. One day, I’ll collate them into a big anthology and a full-on novel, but for now, enjoy the pieces…
Tree
Tree is my little story about a community of folks who live in a huge organic construct in the middle of a forest.
Infernal
Infernal is my oldest story. I wrote these fragments at a time when I was very negative about the possibility of a future for our grand kids. I’m usually an optimist and can’t conceive of not being here in some way or another, but at that stage of my life, I couldn’t see the future being in any way easy, let alone comfortable.
I’m still assembling the collection of fragments but they’ll be ready soon.
Harbour
In the aftermath of global disasters, the world continues. There are many restrictions and limitations, but humans have adapted remarkably well. This story focuses on an archipelago where a small nation has grown and thrived. It’s a story about appropriate technologies.
End of 21
My first foray into this field. It is definitely a utopia, nestled as they always are in a dystopia. It’s about everyday life in an unpleasant world. As always, though, my optimism can be seen through the cracks…
