Exciting times indeed. The mob from the Adelaide Edible Garden Trail have included us in the trail and will be coming out to film at Ligaya Garden on Thursday.
It’s a cool project, and I think the project is best described in the team’s own words –
“The Adelaide Edible Garden Trail celebrates the many ways Kaurna Land residents are creating food sovereignty while saving money and the environment — and enjoying the health benefits of homegrown fruit and veggies.
On Saturday, April 24, backyard growers large and small from across our great city will open their gardens to you via informative online videos, sharing their knowledge and inspiring you to get growing at your place.
The tours showcase sustainable garden practices for South Australia’s local growing conditions, including water conservation, composting, increasing soil fertility, planting to encourage beneficial insects, home food production and organic growing techniques”.
The event is a ticketed one, but don’t panic, it’s ‘pay what you can’ and goes live on April 24th. Tickets are available through Eventbrite via this link.
There’s a competition too! You can take snap of your garden, upload it and use the hashtag #AdelaideEdibleGardenTrail. Give a tip on your top tip for growing food around Adelaide and away you go, you’re in the running for one of 5 prize packs.
