First of firsts

Here’s our first, grown up, real Sunflower for 2021.

I’ve planted out three lots so far, different varieties in different places but bugs and birds (I’m looking at you, chooks!) have got them each time.

Somehow this one has managed to escape the periodic chook ravaging that afflicts the garden and even Mamma Blackbird has missed it.

So, let’s see this first Sunflower as inspiration and as a sign for the upcoming year. Something beautiful is coming.
