Goals…

Sometimes I am asked what our ultimate goals are. That’s a good question as I try to live without any overarching goals, though that’s a bit difficult given the society we live in.

We don’t want self sufficiency or complete independence, seeing integration into a strong and diverse community to be the best security, whatever life has to offer.

I suppose, if I was to sum it up in one word, I would say ‘resilience’.
Some of our small goals for the rest of 2017…

1000 litre slimline rain tank for the front.

A bigger inverter for the solar (we currently use a 300W cheapy 

More battery storage (always more battery storage!)

Better pumps

Lots of fiddling with Aquaponics and Hydroponics

Fixed greenhouse on the northern wall of the house. This will be the potting area too, freeing up the area at the front where the shade house is for a sitting area

Pergola at the back of the house

Catch and recycle kitchen and laundry water

More native plants

…And maybe Jelina and Marlon will let me have a rabbit if I finish all those jobs!
